Issa Tchiroma Bakary read out the press release signed by the Minister , Secretary  General at the Presidency of the Republic, Ferdinad Ngoh Ngog announcing the release of the hostages secured by Cameroonian authorities on the night of  April 19. The kidnapped seven French people included Tanguy Moulin- Four-nier, his wife Albane, his brother Noulin Gopril and his four  children, Eloi, Andeol, Mael and Clarence who were all safe an sound. The president of the Republic, Paul Biya in the release thanked the Nigerian and French governments for their support. “The President of the Republic reaffirms his determination to continue to work hard for Cameroon to remain a land of hospitality, peace, stability, tolerance and progress,” the press relase stated.

Despite the clear nature of press release and the insistence of the Communication Minister that it was time to celebrate the victory and not to interrogate more on the hostages, journalists still asked questions. They wanted to Know whether any ransom was paid before the  release of the hostages, where the hostages were and security assurances. They also asked whether the kidnappers were linked to the Nigerian sect, Noko Haram. The Minister said it was time to celebrate the release of hostages which was achieved thanks to the determination, wisdom and sagacity of the Head of State, Paul Biya who discretely worked for the happy-ended result.

To Issa Tchiroma Bakary, the essential thing was that the hostages were released. Cameroon, Nigeria and France with other collaborators all joined their efforts for this achievement. He invited the reporters to join the Head of State in the celebrations.  This he explained was because Cameroon had scored an important point in the international scene. He used the occasion to inform tourists that Cameroon was a land in which peace and harmony reign, reassuring that nothing would happen to them.

CHOCKING STORY: Mother is six months pregnant with her son’s child

After falling on love with another which resulted in a pregnancy, mother and son now want to marry
“Look, I strove alone to send my son to school and no one helped me. Now you see that my son is working and you accuse me of doing something wrong. Let me enjoy the products of my sweat,” the pregnant mother flaunted before local authorities.

Mbereko (40), from Mwenezi in Masvingo, a widowed for 12 years ago now, has been cohabiting with her first child, Farai Mbereko (23). She confirms that she is six months pregnant and has decided it is better to “marry” her son because she does not want to marry her late husband’s young brothers, whom she says are coveting her.
The village court was throwned in chock last week when the woman revieled the affair with her son had begun three years earlier. According to her statement, after spending a lot of money sending Farai to school following the death of her husband, she felt she had a right to his money and no other woman was entitled to it.
Farai said he was more than prepared to marry his mother and would pay off the ilobola balance his father had left unpaid to his grandparents. “I know my father died before he finished paying the bride price and I am prepared to pay it off,” he said.
“It is better to publicize what is happening because people should know that I am the one who made my mother pregnant. Otherwise they will accuse her of promiscuity.”
But local headman Nathan Muputirwa says: “We cannot allow this to happen in our village, this is a bad omen indeed. In the past they would have to be killed but today we cannot do it because we are afraid of the police.” He passed a warning to both advicing to brake off their marriage or leave the village immediately.
Supprisingly the mother and son proved they have no remous for their action by deciding to choose the advice  and have left the village for an unknown destination.

The French family of seven taken hostage have been freed in Cameroon

French family held hostage for two months by Islamic militants in West Africa have been released,  this was announced on Friday by the French and Cameroonian officials. Tanguy Moulin-Fournier, an engineer with the GDF Suez energy company based in Yaounde, was abducted with his wife, four children and his brother in February while touring a nature reserve in the far north of Cameroon, near the Nigerian border.

The Nigerian jihadist group Boko Haram, which has killed thousands in a campaign of terror in northern Nigeria, claimed responsibility for the kidnapping and demanded the release of prisoners in exchange for the hostages’ lives.

In a recent media appearance, the French President Francois Hollande said his country did not pay a ransom for the seven French hostages.
”We look for all possible contacts; we use the intermediaries that can be the most useful, but we do not cede on principles — which is the nonpayment by France of ransoms,” Hollande said at a news conference in Paris.
Neither African nor French officials described the conditions of the family’s release.
